Alexandria, 311/0-305 BC, in the name of Alexander III the Great. Diademed head of the deified Alexander right, wearing elephant skin headdress / ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟY, Athena advancing right, holding shield extended on left arm and brandishing spear held in right hand; to right, helmet, monogram, and eagle standing right on thunderbolt. Svoronos 162. SNG Copenhagen 29. Toned, with bluish iridescence. Extremely faint scratches in upper reverse field, otherwise a clean and problem-free example.
