A rare engraved mixed colour twist wine glass, circa 1760-65 The bell bowl very finely engraved with a botanical specimen, the stem with a multi-spiral airtwist gauze corkscrew encircled by a single opaque jade-green spiral thread, over a conical foot, 16.8cm high Footnotes: Provenance Sotheby's sale, 25 May 1993, lot 33 Bonhams sale, 2 May 2018, lot 129 This fine glass belongs to a series of closely related mixed colour twist wine glasses all with botanical engraving, the stems either with blue, green or opaque green threads. Three glasses from this group, probably engraved by the same hand, were in the Julius and Ann Kaplan Collection sold by Bonhams on 15 November 2017, lots 60, 63 and 64. Another with a similar opaque jade-green thread was in the A C Hubbard Jr. Collection sold by Bonhams on 30 November 2011, lot 228.
