A Louis XIV Gobelin mythological tapestry

Depicting Diana and Actaeon from the series Ovid's Metamorphoses, the view is of a grotto enclosed by woods where Diana has caught the young Prince Actaeon seeing her being bathed by Nymphs. In her anger she turns him into a stag while he is running away and later his hounds set upon him, worked in vibrant colors within a fruit and acanthus leaf border enclosed by an egg-and-dart-banding.
